Skin Care for Babies - As first time parents, people read up all about baby care and feel confident that they have figured out all things including giving a bath to the baby. But practically when they have to do it, then the realization comes that you feel a little lost with no experience to guide you.

Baby's skin just like the adult's skin contains glands, which produce oils and the oil, acts as a protective layout safeguarding the skin. While bathing the baby, you should be careful not to use strong soap, which can wash away the oil from the baby's skin.

Take suggestion of your doctor use the baby's soap and shampoo as per their recommendation. Thereby you are taking care to use good products, which will not damage the baby's skin.

It is enough if you give a bath once a day to your baby. But then the mouth and other parts do need frequent cleaning especially after the baby is fed and when it passes a motion or urinates.

While preparing to give a bath to your baby, follow the process that you have read or learned. First, keep the water at body temperature and not hotter or cold for baby's skin is too soft and gentle and cannot bear more heat or cold. Secondly, check the temperature of the water with your hand before you let the baby into the water. You may use a recommended baby soap to clean the body off all dirt and then rinse with water to make the soap wash away. Lastly, pick up a soft towel and wipe the body dry and use another town to cover the body and bundle the baby.

Using dry, clean and soft towels or wraps to dry the baby and wrap them is very important. The sweet and warm wrap can keep them dry as well as snuggly thereby safe too.

Take a large portion of moisturizer recommended for babies and run it on the baby's hands, legs and rub it into the skin of the baby so that the skin loses its dryness and becomes soft and smooth. This is sure to bring a smile to the baby's face when he enjoys the message. Alternatively, you can use baby talcum powder too.

Make it a point to enjoy the baby's bathing experience every day and soon you will see that your baby enjoys it too and the bonding between you and the baby increases. These are precious moments, which should be thoroughly enjoyed by you.
